Summary

Shayla Vegas drilled a three-run homer, and Central Valley bested visiting Mead 11-7 Friday in GSL play.

Vegas' blast, her third of the season, came in the fifth inning and turned an 8-5 CV lead into an 11-5 margin. She drove in four on the day.

Kelsey Gumm struck out nine to earn her fourth win of the season for the Bears, and Jordan Schneidmiller went 2 for 2 and picked up an RBI.

Mikaylie King had three hits to lead the Panthers.

The win was the third in a row for CV.
