Summary

Kyla Stern went 2 for 4 with five RBIs to lead host Mt. Spokane to a 14-8 Greater Spokane League softball win over Lewis and Clark on Thursday.

Stern hit a double and a triple as the Wildcats tallied 13 of their 14 hits through the first three innings, jumping out to a 13-0 lead. Kaitlyn Zemke, Hannah Bell and Jadeyn Cronn added two hits apiece for Mt. Spokane, which owns the No. 2 seed to the District 8 3A tournament at Whitworth and will play a winner-to-regional, loser-out game against No. 3 North Central at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Sophie Harper and Jenna Brandkamp each had a double and an RBI for the Tigers (5-12), who will play Gonzaga Prep in a loser-out game of the District 8 4A tournament at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Whitworth.
