Summary

Senior Makenna Wasteney pitched a complete game and Macie Reynolds was 2 for 2 with two triples and an RBI to lead host Central Valley to a 8-1 win over Gonzaga Prep in the Greater Spokane League finale for both teams.

Wasteney scattered four hits while striking out nine and seniors Shayla Vegas and Celynna Cobbs had two hits apiece for the Bears (). During a four-run sixth, Cobbs hit a two-run inside-the-park home run and Vegas added an RBI single.

Central Valley enters districts as the No. 3 seed and will play No. 2 Mead at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Whitworth. Top-seeded University awaits the winner of No. 4 Lewis and Clark and No. 5 Gonzaga Prep, which on Tuesday will open the District 8 4A tournament at 5 p.m.
