Summary

Quincy McDeid scored the game-winning bucket, and North Central edged Shadle Park 46-44 on Tuesday in the District 8 3A tournament.

McDeid led all scorers with 16 points, and her baseline drive and finish in the final minute put the Indians in front by one. Lexie Brandt then stole the ball and added a free throw, before the Highlanders missed a potential game-winning three on their final possession.

NC had played the game without two starters; Megan Dean was out with a torn Achilles tendon and Sierra Everman was sidelined with a concussion. Kieana Bigsmoke helped fill the void in just her second varsity game, as she hit four threes and finished with 14 points.

Abby Bauernfeind paced Shadle with 13 points.

North Central will now play Mt. Spokane on Friday for the District title.
