What happened:

Ryan Rehkow scored 13 points for Central Valley (15-5, 13-5) as they edged visiting Shadle Park (16-4, 4-4) 44-42 Saturday night. Central remains in fourth place in the GSL after the win.

A huge first quarter by the Bears, up 22-8, the Highlanders inched their way back, and made a big run in the fourth quarter. Down 39-25, Shadle Park went on a run, led by Tanner Groves who scored 12 points in the quarter, to get within two points of the Bears with just a few seconds left. The Highlanders had four chances to tie the game, but Central Valley's defense stepped up big to secure the win.

Billy Ames scored eight points with nine rebounds for the Bears and Michael Plunkitt dished seven assists.

Groves finshed with 18 points with seven rebounds.
