Summary

What happened:

Senior Shania Graham scored 28 points for Republic (22-2) as they continued their hot play as they defeated Almira/Coulee-Hartline (20-4) 52-46 on Friday night at University High School.

After going own by 5, Republic switched up their defense and held the Warriors to five points in the second quarter and take a three-point at halftime. The Warriors snatched a one-point lead at the end of the third, but Republic continued to fight. With about 2 minutes left in the game, Lily Beckwith nailed a deep 3-pointer over the defender, giving Republic the lead and victory. Beckwith finished with 11 points.

Berlyn Hunt led Almira/Coulee-Hartline with 19 points and Gabi Isaak added 13.

With the win, Republic earns a bye in the next round of state playoffs and will play on Thursday at The Arena. ACH will play Wednesday in a loser-out game.
