Summary

What happened:

Kahlil Tilbury scored on an error by Lewis and Clark in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Pirates (1-4, 1-3) defeated the Tigers (2-4, 1-3) 8-7 on Tuesday.

Lewis Clark held a 3-1 lead all the way until the fifth inning when Rogers scored three runs. Adam Bertram scored on a pass ball and then both Casey Wescott and Damon Brummett hit RBI singles, giving the Pirates a 4-3 lead. With Rogers leading 5-3 in the seventh, the Tigers scored three runs, two on errors, to take back the lead. But Rogers scored on a ground ball to tie the game at 6-6. In the eighth inning, Lewis and Clark scored one in the top half, but Rogers answered with two more. Josh Slawter led off with a double. Tilbury then laid down a bunt that was thrown away and Slawter scored, tying the game at 7-7. One the next pitch, Wescott swung and hit a ball up the middle that was thrown away again and Tilbury scored for the win.
