Jaelynn Skok batted 2 for 3 and also struck out six batters to help Chewelah beat visiting Freeman 7-2 in the District 7 1A playoffs Tuesday. Larissa Sweat added three hits in as many at-bats for the Cougars, while Haley Kuk was 2 for 2. Hannah Brock batted 2 for 3 with a triple for the Scotties. Chewelah will next play Lakeside Saturday at 11 a.m. in Colville. Freeman is eliminated.

Lakeside whacked Freeman 15-0 in the first game of a Northeast A doubleheader on Saturday. The Eagles were led by McKensie Brittos, who threw three scoreless innings and the mound and was 3-for-3 with four RBIs, two doubles and a homerun at the plate.
