By Michael Anderson Correspondent Colton broke through for 11 runs in the final two innings Saturday and defeated Pomeroy 14-6 to win the State 1B softball title at Tay Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima. For Colton (18-5), the title is the seventh in the last eight seasons. The Wildcats are also the softball Academic Champions for Class 1B with a team GPA of 3.805. With this win, Pomeroy will advance to State in the No. 1 spot, the first time in school history for fast pitch softball. Toni cloud finished 4-for-4 with a single home run and five RBIs for Pomeroy. Kacey Halbert led from the mound and pitched a complete game, allowing only five hits. Pomeroy will play in Yakima for State on May 27 with the opponent TBD.
