Seattle Mariners starter Felix Hernandez is expected to miss 4 to 6 weeks after being diagnosed with a grade 1 lat strain in his right side. Seattle manager Scott Servais said that an MRI revealed the extent of the injury.

A day after a dark substance was spotted under the bill of Kikuchi’s cap in a win at Yankee Stadium – possibly illegal pine tar – all sides kept cool. MLB issued no penalty or even a statement on the matter. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said his team would handle things behind the scenes.
