From here, the injury report at halftime looked simple: quarterback Rick Mirer had a separated shoulder and the rest of the Seattle Seahawks had narcolepsy.
That's the misfortunes malady in which people inexplicably and unexpectedly drop off to sleep right in the middle of what they're doing.
Consider this a "given" Sunday.
The folks in the NFL talk about them all the time, about how on any given Sunday even the most downtrodden underdog can pull off the stunning upset.

In recent seasons, Gonzaga's scoring seemed to come predominately from the perimeter - that expanse outside the 3-point arc.
That has changed.
Now, it appears that the area of the gym GU will dominate is that space between the rim and the roof.
Halftimes are important little interludes.
They're time to rest, to take care of some personal needs, and to receive directions from coaches.
Gonzaga men's basketball coach Dan Fitzgerald, for instance, gave his Bulldogs important directions at intermission of their 86-66 win over Central Washington Thursday night.
Rick Mirer will be the Seattle Seahawks' quarterback when the game against the Philadelphia Eagles starts this Sunday.
But whether he'll be on the field when the game ends depends on how he performs.

His team had just held on to a slim exhibition win over a touring pro team from Australia and coach Dan Fitzgerald's face was sucked up into a scowl as profound as that guy in the commercial who is plagued by bitter-beer face.
"Whew, we got a lotta work to do," the Gonzaga men's basketball coach said Sunday after his team escaped with a 69-65 win over the Townsville Suns.
"Our perimeter play was terrible, we got absolutely no play from the perimeter," he said.
