Ales For The Trails Attracts 600

Organizers of the annual Ales to Trails event, which supports the North Idaho Centennial Trail, said Saturday’s event at McEuen Park (which attracted 600 people) was a big success. “It was apparent throughout the entire event that people were smiling, dancing, and vising with friends—all for a great cause,” said exec Greta Gissel.

Effluent Ups Spokane River Flow

The drought-parched Spokane River is getting about 14 percent of its water from sewage treatment plants this summer. Industrial and municipal treatment plants discharge about 60M gallons of treated water daily into the river. The discharges start near the river’s headwaters in Lake Coeur d’Alene and continue downstream to the Spokane sewer plant.
