PULLMAN – Not long after he entered the transfer portal, looking for a new home for his final season of college eligibility, Daniel Blood got a call from a number he recognized. On the other end was Kirby Moore, his offensive coordinator at Missouri, where Blood had just played the first three seasons of his career.

PULLMAN – Washington State will have to replace two more key basketball players from the last couple seasons.

PULLMAN – Josh Meredith admits it freely. He was nervous.

Many of WSU’s highlights on Saturday belonged to wide receiver Branden Ganashamoorthy, but honors for best practice belonged to the team’s running backs. At least, that’s the way coach Kirby Moore saw it.

Washington State’s cornerbacks coach was hyping up safety Jeremiah Bernard, who had just picked off a pass during Thursday’s spring practice opener, prompting a host of teammates to mob him along the sideline.

He’s learned from all manner of head coaches, all of whom have received shoutouts from Washington State’s new head coach in his first few months on the job, all of whom have colored the new Cougar head man’s approach.
