Nigel Williams-Goss exits late in Zags win

Most of Gonzaga’s games have been relatively stress-free and their injury list has been fairly short. It seemed like that would continue Saturday when the fourth-ranked Zags’ lead soared into to the 20s late in the second half against the stubborn Portland Pilots. Zags keep their guard up in victory over Saint Mary’s

Saint Mary’s offense starts with guards Joe Rahon and Emmett Naar. It may finish with a Calvin Hermanson 3-pointer or Jock Landale operating on the low block, but the two veteran guards orchestrate nearly every play. Gonzaga freshman Zach Collins making most of his minutes

When Przemek Karnowski was a freshman, he played 10.7 minutes per game behind Kelly Olynyk, Elias Harris and Sam Dower. When Domantas Sabonis was a freshman, he came off the bench behind Karnowski and Kyle Wiltjer. Zach Collins is in that pipeline now, carving out quality minutes as a freshman while in line to be Gonzaga’s next big thing.
