Judge Upholds Law Regulating Adult Video Booths

A city law stripping the doors from video booths inside Spokane's adult arcades survived another legal test Monday. Spokane County Superior Court Judge Michael E. Donohue rejected a legal challenge to the ordinance, ruling that the 3-year-old ban on closed-door booths doesn't violate free speech rights. Two years ago, a federal judge made a similar ruling in another lawsuit.

Colorado’s Top Draft Pick Shuts Down Indians Portland’s Fine Pitching Gets The Best Of Spokane For Second Straight Night

The Colorado Rockies pitching staff gave up 18 runs in their last two games to the Cincinnati Reds. Their Class A farm club in Portland has given up just one to the Spokane Indians. Now no one will ever confuse Indians hitters with those of the Reds, but given the lack of horses in the bullpen in the Mile High city, well, some of these Portland pitchers may find themselves climbing the minor-league ladder a little sooner than expected.

Indians Clobber Everett Chapman, Practice Uniforms Prove To Be Winning Formula

If it takes an ambidextrous pitcher and practice uniforms to spark the Spokane Indians to a win, then so be it. Jake Chapman pitched six innings of two-hit ball and struck out nine, and the Indians, in their navy blue practice uniforms, beat the Everett AquaSox 9-1 in Northwest League baseball Monday night at Seafirst Stadium. Chapman, who pitches left but is a natural righty, faced just 20 batters, two above the minimum he could have faced in six innings of work, while improving his record to 4-0. In his last two outings, he has allowed just one run on three hits in 11 innings and struck out 13.

Southern Oregon, Herold Lay Into Indians Unhappy Spokane Manager Schedules Postgame Practice After Sloppy Defeat

It really wasn't necessary to talk to Spokane Indians manager Bob Herold after Southern Oregon beat the Indians 8-5 Sunday night at Seafirst Stadium. But Herold was kind of enough to oblige anyway. Actions always speak louder than words. So, when some of the Indians emerged from their locker room just 5 minutes after losing to the worst team in the Northwest League, well, filling in the blanks was the easy part.
