East Valley Names Hisaw As New Boys Track Coach

Because of a technicality, Curt Hisaw is apparently in and Dave McCarty is out as head boys track coach at East Valley High, just two weeks before the start of the 1997 season. Hisaw's selection is predicated upon formal approval by the school board at its next meeting, Feb. 25.

Central Valley High School linemen Preston Crossman, listed at 350 pounds last fall, and Wil Beck, at 280, made like ballerinas during the annual spirit basketball game between CV and University High School.

Injuries Wrack Outstanding CV Wrestling Squad

Rated the No. 1 wrestling team in Washington state, Central Valley High is just thankful to be part of a three-way tie for the Greater Spokane League championship. Injuries have hurt the team, costing the Bears as many as 50 state tournament points, said coach Dale Ethridge.

Frontier wrestling East Valley put an exclamation mark on an unbeaten Frontier League wrestling season Thursday night with a 63-0 victory over West Valley. It was the second shutout this season against a league foe, a fact that amazed coach Craig Hanson.
