Evelyn Discus Palouse, Wash.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Garfield (Wash.) Cemetery for Evelyn R. Discus, 77. Cremation will precede. Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Discus died Saturday from cancer. She was born in Cora, Idaho.
She graduated from Garfield High School and Kinman Business College. She worked as a beauty operator in Spokane and Rosalia.
Mrs. Discus and her husband lived in Palouse, and she was a homemaker. In the 1960s, she worked for a few years at Washington State University.
She was a member of Palouse Federated Church.
Mrs. Discus is survived by her husband of 52 years, Glen Discus, at home; one son, Gary Discus of Palouse; one daughter, Salie Anderson of Potlatch, Idaho; four brothers, Paul Anderson of Troy, Idaho, Bill Anderson of Colfax, Wash., Donald Anderson of Lewiston, and Edgar Anderson of Garfield; six sisters, Anna Banka of Newport, Wash., Dorothy Davis of Tillamook, Ore., Edna Leonard of Palouse, and Gladys Anderson, Margaret Frame and Helen Byrne, all of Garfield; and two grandchildren.

James Anderson Potlatch, Idaho
Graveside service for James W. Anderson, 73, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Rock Creek Cemetery, south of Potlatch. Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Anderson died Sunday at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow.
He was a lifetime Moscow resident.
Mr. Anderson graduated from Palouse High School.
He farmed and raised cattle on the family farm on Flannigan Creek beginning in 1938. For the past 40 years he also operated a gravel pit.
Mr. Anderson was a charter member of the Potlatch Lions Club, past commissioner for Potlatch, and later, the North Latah County Highway Board, past associate director for the Latah County Grain Growers, and a member of the Palouse Producers Advisory Board.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Reta Anderson, at home; one son, Gary Anderson of Potlatch; one daughter, Bonnie Foster of Stanwood, Wash.; one sister, Mildred Naef of Merced, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Homer Krasselt Moscow, Idaho
Graveside service for Homer J. Krasselt, 80, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch. Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Krasselt died Thursday in Ontario, Ore., from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
He was born in Cora, Idaho.
Mr. Krasselt and his wife lived in Palouse until 1936, when they moved to the Rock Creek area south of Potlatch. They farmed and ranched, and he worked as a sawyer for Potlatch Forests Inc.
He retired in 1972 after 38 years of working. In 1977 they moved to Moscow.
Mr. Krasselt was a member of the Rock Creek Grange, Idaho State Grange, National Grange, and the Moscow Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Krasselt, at home; one son, Richard Krasselt of Moscow; two daughters, Shirley Holbrook of Moscow and Violet Sawyer of Cheney; two brothers, Wallace Krasselt of St. Maries and Everett Krasselt of Potlatch; two sisters, Mary Courser of Spokane and Martha McLain of Clarkston; 12 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren.

Verna Twedt Spokane

Mrs. Twedt, who was born in Dawson, Minn., died Monday.
A homemaker, she had lived in Spokane since 1968.
She is survived by her husband, Tilvan Twedt, at home; two sons, Gary Twedt of Nampa, Idaho, and Richard Twedt of Spokane; and three granddaughters.
Robin Beghtol Spokane
Service for Robin G. Beghtol is planned for 3 p.m. Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Beghtol, 32, died Monday from injuries suffered in an industrial accident Friday at Spokane Industrial Park.
Born in Denver, he moved to Spokane from Denver in 1967. He graduated from North Central High School and received a drafting degree from Spokane Community College.
He worked as a draftsman for Western Rebar Co. and for the past 1 years had worked for Huntwood Industries as an assistant shift supervisor.
Mr. Beghtol is survived by his wife of 10 years, Mary Beghtol, one daughter, Sheena Beghtol, and one son, Shane Beghtol, all at home; his mother, Mary Barnes of Spokane; five brothers, Robert Beghtol of Grandview, Wash., Richard Beghtol of Selah, Wash, Rodger and Rodney Beghtol, both of Everett, and Darren Barnes of Lakewood, Colo.; and one sister, Krysta Van Horn of Lindsborg, Kan.
Judy Frerichs Spokane
Service for Judy Frerichs, 53, is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Euclid Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Maccabee Cemetery in Sprague, Wash. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frerichs died Tuesday from cancer.
Born in Loma Linda, Calif., she graduated from Rogers High School and Whitworth College. She and her husband had served as missionaries for the past 26 years in Lima, Peru.
She planned to return to Peru last May, after being home for one year.
Mrs. Frerichs was a member of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Chuck “Butch” Frerichs, at home; one son, Steve Frerichs, and two daughters, Ruth Huber and Sarah Villacorta, all of Ankeny, Iowa; one brother, Donald Curtis of Stockton, Calif.; two sisters, Madelyn Carlson of Carefree, Ariz., and Helen Hrdlicka of Daysland, Alberta.

Mabel Montie Orient, Wash.
Service for Mabel G. Montie, 95, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, Wash. Graveside service will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
Mrs. Montie, a longtime Stevens County resident, died Sunday in Colville.
She was born in Jackson, Minn.
She and her husband worked on her family’s farm for several years before they moved to their home on Boulder Creek. Her husband, John Montie, died in 1983.
Mrs. Montie was a member of the Kettle River Grange and had worked on the Stevens County Election Board.
She is survived by one niece, Marlene Hagadorn of Reno, Nev.; and two nephews, Wayne Bay of Topeka, Kan., and Bruce Montgomery of Huntsville, Ala.

Lillian Otness Moscow, Idaho
No service will be held for Lillian Gritman Woodworth Otness, at her request. Short’s Funeral Home of Moscow, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Otness, who was born in Moscow, died July 22. She was 85.
She and her family lived in New Mexico and Southern California for a short time before returning to Moscow.
She graduated from Moscow High School and the University of Idaho. She was a high school athletic director in Klamath Falls, Ore., for three years.
In 1933, she became the director of women’s athletics at the UI’s then southern branch, now known as Idaho State University in Pocatello. She earned master’s degrees from ISU and the UI.
She was involved with the Latah County Historical Society, and in 1991 she received an award from the city of Moscow for outstanding achievement in historic preservation.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Otness, at home; and one son, Robert Otness of California.

Frank Bridwell Jr. Spokane
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Covenant Christian Church for Frank Bridwell Jr., 72. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bridwell, who died Monday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and served in the Air Force as a meteorologist from 1942 until 1945. He worked for Brown Trailer Service for 33 years and retired in 1980.
Mr. Bridwell was a member of the American Legion, the Valley Elks Lodge and the Manito Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Bridwell, at home; two daughters, Connie Boleneus of Spokane and Kathy Bridwell of Davenport, Wash.; one brother, J.H. Bridwell of Bellevue, Wash.; one sister, Florence Ross of Seattle; and four grandchildren.

Willah G. Klein Davenport, Wash.

Mrs. Klein, a 73-year Edwall resident, died Monday.
She was born in Portland.
Mrs. Klein and her husband farmed in the Edwall area for 50 years. Her husband, Linas Klein, died in 1970.
After her husband’s death, she lived with her sister in Seattle for a short time. She moved to Davenport in 1984.
She is survived by two sons, Veral Klein and Dwaine Klein, both of Edwall; and five grandchildren.
She was member of the Assembly of God Church in Davenport.

Beverly Wentworth Medical Lake

Mrs. Wentworth, who died Tuesday, was born in Lewistown, Mont.
She worked in food service at Eastern State Hospital for 25 years before retiring in 1991.
Her husband, Ralph Wentworth, died in 1991.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Smith, and three daughters, Melody Hodgson, Deborah Bowlen and Lisa Spilker, all of Medical Lake; four sisters, Margaret Downey, Iris Crawford and Sheryl Mahseelah, all of Great Falls, Mont., and Patricia Severens of Lewistown; four brothers, Kenny Thomas of Denver, Donald Thomas of Seattle, Mike Thomas of Marysville, Wash., and Wayne Thomas of Great Falls; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Rossworn, who died Sunday, was born in Rich Hill, Mo.
She lived in Spokane for 70 years and moved to Brewster nine years ago. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Rossworn was a member of Hillyard Christian Church.
Her husband, Wesley Rossworn, died in 1970.
She is survived by one son, Donald Rossworn of Spokane; two daughters, Betty Handley of Spokane and Sheryl Steelman of Brewster; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Olof Berglund Spokane

Mr. Berglund, who died last Thursday, was born in Sweden.
An electrician, he lived in Spokane for more than 44 years.
He was a member of the Machinists Union and the Spokane Duplicate Bridge Association.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews in Sweden.
Dr. Laurence McDowell Mesa, Ariz.
Memorial service for Laurence E. McDowell, 80, is planned for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen’s Church in Portland.
Dr. McDowell, who died July 25, was born in Portland.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from the University of Oregon School of Dentistry and moved to Spokane with his wife.
He practiced in Spokane for 27 years. He moved to Arizona 10 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara McDowell, at home; two daughters, Kathy Dewoody of Independence, Kan., and Theresa Staeheli of Spokane; one son, Larry McDowell of Olympia; and one sister, Helen McDowell, and one brother, James McDowell, both of Portland.

Dillian Morgan Spokane

Mrs. Morgan, who died Monday, was born in Waubay, S.D.
She worked at a newspaper in Aberdeen, S.D., and lived in Spokane for more than 52 years.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Spokane Garden Club, and she volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission.
Her husband, Roy Morgan, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Zella Hautala of Spokane; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hayes, 97, who died Monday, was born in Albion, Neb.
She was housemother at Washington State University for 18 years and then at Morning Star Boys Ranch for nine years.
Mrs. Hayes had lived in Spokane since 1956 and was a resident of St. Joseph Care Center for the past six years.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Her husband, Daniel Hayes, died in 1953.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Hayes of Ellensburg and Eugene Hayes of Douglass, Wyo.; two daughters, Margaret Bittinger of Clarks, Neb., and Mary Ann Condon of Spokane; 19 grandchildren, 40 greatgrandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.

Mr. Shallcross, who died Monday, was born in Philadelphia. He worked for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif., for 32 years before retiring in 1972.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nadine Shallcross, at home; one daughter, Barbara Klopp of Los Alamitos, Calif.; two stepsons, Lee Roberts of Covina, Calif., and Graydon Roberts of Riverside, Calif.; and one stepgrandson.
