Get That Computer Whirring On Art For Ewu Invitational
Here’s a challenge for all you creative computer whizzes: Sponsored by EWU’s Gallery of Art, the eighth National Computer Art Invitational Exhibition is open to all media created and/or generated by computers. Entries must be produced on a hard copy format; no software programs accepted. Entry fee is $15 for a maximum of 10 35mm slides. Deadline is Oct. 20.

Acoustic Music Guild jam, workshop
An Applied Music Theory workshop for all stringed instruments will be conducted by Harold Streeter of the Acoustic Music Guild, E1524 37th, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Cost is $8 for AMG members, $10 for nonmembers. For registration or information, call (509) 624-5905.
The next jam for the Acoustic Music Guild is scheduled for Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 417 N. William, Post Falls. Plan to join in if you play guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin, dobro, dulcimer, bass, flute or harmonica.
Idaho history exhibit
Don’t miss the first exhibit in a new series exploring Idaho’s history at the Museum of North Idaho in Coeur d’Alene. Scheduled for Aug. 13-27, “Native American Experience and Early European Contact” looks at the early colonizers.
The traveling exhibits are a joint project of the Idaho Humanities Council, the Idaho State Historical Society and the Idaho Association of Museums. Hours are 11 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The Museum of North Idaho is located at 115 Northwest Blvd., Coeur d’Alene. For information, call (208) 664-3448.
Horse era, lacework exhibits in Moscow
Two diverse exhibits opened recently at the McConnell Mansion Historic House Museum in Moscow. “The Horse Era: Travel, Work and Recreation with Horses,” illustrates the importance of horses in Latah County and invites families to examine the artifacts from this bygone era.
By contrast, an exhibit of the delicate art of lacemaking highlights examples of laces passed down through generations and demonstrates lacemaking techniques.

Spokane watercolorist in show
A painting by Spokane artist Edie Dunlap, “Looking for the Troll,” has been accepted for the 1994 juried show of the Eastern Washington Watercolor Society. It will be exhibited at the Allied Arts Gallery in Richland Sept. 6-29.
