Kelly Hanks Spokane

Service for Kelly Lee Hanks, 34, is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Hazen and Jaeger-Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Hanks died Tuesday from pneumonia. He was born in Charleston, S.C.

During his childhood he lived in South Carolina, Alaska, Florida, Germany, England and Texas. He graduated from University High School and attended Spokane Community College. He graduated from Washington State University and worked at Itron, Inc. for 10 years.

He is survived by his parents, Ted and Wren Hanks of ; two brothers, Tom Burns of Valdosta, Ga., and Bob Hanks of Milwaukie, Ore.; two sisters, Donna Combs of Edmond, Okla., and Patricia Helmick of Lacey, and his grandmother, Mary Lee Maxwell of Florence, S.C.

Helmut Heuple St. Maries

Service for Helmut Heuple, 72, is planned for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. Maries. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Heuple died Thursday. He was born in Eureka, S.D.

He and his wife moved to St. Maries in 1944. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad from 1947 until 1984.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Eagles Lodge No. 2012 and St. Maries Grange.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Faith Heuple, at home; two sons, Larry Heuple of Largo, Fla., and Jerry Heuple of Aldie, Va.; one daughter, Lana McDaniel of Lancaster, Calif.; five sisters, Gertrude and Freda Trenkenschuh, both of Yakima, Bernice Shanley and Gladys Eide, both of Aberdeen, S.D., and Agnes Koerner of Evansville, Wyo.; one halfsister, Tina Pulven of Florida; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Jimmy Durante Childrens Fund in care of St. Maries Eagles or the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children. Grace Jydstrup Spokane

Graveside service for Grace Jydstrup, 101, is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Riverside Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jydstrup died Wednesday. She was born in Irwin, Iowa. She was a 62-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.

Her husband, Charles Jydstrup, died in 1980. She is survived by two sons, Charles Jydstrup Jr., of Alaska and Robert Jydstrup of Spokane; two daughters, Twila Cochran of Brookings, Ore., and Bernice Jameson of Spokane; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-grandchild.

Clara Rice Spokane

Private service for Clara I. Rice, will be held. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Mrs. Rice, 70, died Monday. She was born in Wapato, Wash.

She lived in Spokane for 65 years, and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Stephen Rice, preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Lawson of McVeytown, Pa., and Dolly Owens of Sutherlin, Ore.; one son, Roland Rice, of Spokane, and 18 grandchildren.

William Tucker Spokane

Service for William C. “Bill” Tucker, 60, is planned for 5 p.m. Sunday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Tucker, who died Wednesday, was born in Everett, Wash., and grew up in Wenatchee.

He served for four years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a salesman in various fields, and also operated Little Willie’s Auto Sales in Spokane.

He was a member of the Spokane Walleye Club.

He is survived by his wife, Rena Tucker, at home; one son, Gary Tucker; one daughter, Rhea Tucker, both of Spokane; his mother, Elizabeth Tucker; one brother, Larry Tucker, both of Wenatchee, and one sister, Margie Hyatt, of Camarillo, Calif.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Esther Searle Chewelah, Wash.

Graveside service for Esther Searle, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Chewelah Memorial Park. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah, Wash. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Searle, who died Wednesday, was born in Saskatchewan. She was a homemaker and lived in Chewelah for about 25 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Karla Knoles of Priest River, Idaho; six grandchildren, and 18 greatgrandchildren.

Alfred Elli Hayden Lake, Idaho

Service for Alfred E. Elli, 79, is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Elli, who died Thursday at Sunset Terrace Convalescent Center, was born in Elk River, Minn. He was 79. He moved to Colburn, Idaho in 1930. He and his wife moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1962. He was a bulldozer operator and worked with Oliver Logging in Sandpoint. He also worked for Sendt Logging and retired from Nearing Logging in 1985.

His wife Marie Elli, died in 1983. He is survived by two sons, Doug Elli of Coeur d’Alene and Richard Ragland of Cheney; three daughters, Dawn Waudby of Yacolt, Wash., Brenda Miller of Tacoma and Leah Kelly of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, Jim Elli of New Mexico and Harold Elli; three sisters, Alyce Walson of Sandpoint and Irene Hartman and Helen Corne, both of Spokane, and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Boise.
