I-90 Construction Half-Finished

From Staff

Construction on the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 west of downtown Spokane is halfway done, a Transportation Department spokesman said.

The work should be complete by Nov. 1, said Al Gilson.

Work crews, which began a $15 million, two-year resurfacing project in April, are laying down 11 inches of new concrete.

“By the end of October, we will have new pavement, from the end of Spokane’s downtown viaduct to just short of Medical Lake,” Gilson said. The new concrete should last at least 30 years, he said.

Construction will begin next year on the eastbound side of I-90 through the same 4-mile area, Gilson said.
