Kodak Plans To Split Sale
Eastman Kodak Co., seeking bids for L&F Products, has decided to try to sell the business in two parts because it couldn’t get the price it wanted for the whole division.
By splitting L&F’s worldwide household products business from its do-it-yourself goods business, Kodak believes it can “deliver the best results for its shareholders,” spokesman Paul McAfee said.
The entire L&F unit has been valued by analysts at $1.7 billion to $2 billion. Colgate-Palmolive Co., Unilever PLC and Reckitt & Colman PLC are reported to be finalists in the bidding.
The division, based in Montvale, N.J., said Wednesday it was reopening the bidding for the separate units.
