Robber Foiled When Victim Runs
A would-be robber was foiled Sunday morning when his intended victim ran away, Post Falls police said.
A 34-year-old Montana woman was in her semitruck cab at the Flying J Travel Plaza when a man reached in the passenger side window, police said. He held a knife with a 3-inch blade and apparently intended to rob the woman, police said.
Instead, police said, she hopped out of her truck and called police. The man ran off.
The two had been talking inside the truck-stop television room for about two hours before the 8:20 a.m. incident, police said.
The suspect was described as white, about 18, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 130 pounds, with sandy blond collarlength hair. Police said he had slight acne, was clean shaven, and wore a blue shirt, multicolored pants and a black baseball cap reading “Warner Trucking.” Police did not release the woman’s name.
Post Falls police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to call them at 773-3517.
