Teen’S Car Stolen At Gunpoint

From Staff

A Lewiston teenager was the victim of a carjacking outside a grocery store Saturday night, Lewiston police reported.

The 17-year-old girl was walking to her car with her boyfriend in the Tidyman’s parking lot on the Nez Perce Grade just before 9 p.m. when they were threatened, said Patrol Officer Dave Gobbi.

A young white male, possibly a juvenile, pointed a .38-caliber or .44-caliber handgun at the two and told the girl to put her keys on the ground, which she did, Gobbi said.

The suspect, who was wearing baggy shorts, a dark baseball cap and had brown hair, took the 1989 Ford Probe and hit a parked car while fleeing from the parking lot, Gobbi said. No injuries were reported.
