An unusual Federal Reserve Board investigation about whether a former Fed governor passed inside information to clients has been turned over to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

House Banking Chairman Henry B. Gonzalez asked the SEC to expand on the Fed Inspector General’s investigation of Wayne Angell, who left the Fed in February and later joined the New York investment bank Bear Stearns & Co.
