Carol Benesh Receives Award For Youth Work

Carol Benesh received the GouldWysinger Award from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for her work with youths who have been disciplined in the justice system.

She works within the University of Idaho Cooperative Extension System and has secured a two-year grant for the program from the Idaho Justice Commission after she took the post in October 1991. Latah County implemented the program in 1992, based on a model first used in Colorado, and Boundary and Bonner counties followed in October 1992 and 1993, respectively.

Ted Gulick, of Cub Scout Pack 348, recently received the God and Me religious medal. Presentations were made at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church and Manito United Methodist Church.

Senske Lawn & Tree Care and Pest Control employees have completed a sales and service skills five-week workshop conducted by the American Sales College.

Receiving perfect-attendance awards were: Jim Cael, Ron Johnson, Tom Kynett, Rob Nelson, Robert Palmer, Craig Pearsall, and Greg Tinklin.

Others completing the course were: Lenard Allen, Pat Boyle, Jack Cox, Jamie Herman, Aaron Noack, Shawn Rich, Greg Strawbridge, and Roger White.

Esther Reed Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, received the Membership Award for the largest gain in membership for Washington State chapters. The group also received a second place in the scrapbook contest and a recognition certificate for insignia purchased.
