Girl Reports Attempt At Abduction By Driver
A man tried to abduct a 12-year-old girl at a Spokane Valley bus stop Thursday morning.
The girl was waiting at a Spokane Transit Authority bus stop at Sprague and Pines at about 7:30 a.m., said sheriff’s Lt. David Wiyrick.
A white man drove up and asked if she wanted a ride. She ran to a nearby residence and called authorities.
The man is described as between 37 and 39 years old and “chubby,” Wiyrick said. The small, gray vehicle was last seen heading west on Sprague.
Woman assaults deputy
A woman accused of trespassing allegedly assaulted a deputy Thursday night.
Audrey J. Hever, 34, faces charges of trespassing and third degree assault, Wiyrick said.
Deputies responded to a trespass call at the 700 block of North Argonne at about 9 p.m.
A resident said that Hever was refusing to leave the apartment.
Deputies said Hever refused to leave and was arrested. She then became violent, attacking and hitting deputy Donald Henderson, Wiyrick said.
She was booked into Spokane County-City Jail.
Four face drug charges
Four Valley residents were arrested on drug charges in the Spokane Valley on Sunday and Monday.
On Monday, a deputy stopped Christopher Ray Polinski, 24, 1915 N. Sargent, at Trent and Vista for a traffic violation.
A routine check showed that Polinski had an outstanding warrant, Wiyrick said.
Deputies found methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, Wiyrick said.
He was booked on the outstanding warrant and for possession of a controlled substance.
On Sunday, a traffic officer stopped William J. Rutter, 29, 8003 E. Alki, for a traffic violation at Park and Valleyway. The officer found methamphetamines on Rutter, Wiyrick said.
Rutter faces charges of possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Also Sunday, two Valley residents were arrested on drug charges.
John R. Koesterman, 45, and Desma Koesterman, 24, were arrested after Spokane Regional Drug Task Force members used a search warrant at 2200 N. Houk.
They face charges of delivery of a controlled substance, deputies said. John Koesterman also faces charges of possession of crack cocaine.
Fight ends in arrests
Four juvenile boys were arrested after deputies responded to a fight at the 12100 block of East Boone last Friday night.
A group of people who were not invited to a party at the residence arrived, Wiyrick said.
Deputies arrested a 16-year-old for two counts of fourth-degree assault and one count of possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Another 16-year-old faces charges of being a minor in possession by consumption, deputies said.
A 17-year-old faces charges of fourth-degree assault, and another 16-year-old faces charges of being a minor in possession and third degree malicious mischief.
Man arrested for robbery
A man accused of a robbing a 69-year-old man was arrested Wednesday.
Lee Jennings, 30, faces a charge of second-degree robbery.
Jennings is accused of robbing a resident on the 4100 North block of Arden on Feb. 9. He allegedly struck and kicked the resident and stole money from the victim’s wallet, deputies said.
“Jennings then took a rifle and threatened to kill the victim if he did not open the safe,” Wiyrick said.
