Ernest Shearer Spokane

Graveside service for Ernest I. Shearer, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Pines Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Foothills Community Church. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shearer, who died Wednesday, was born in Hurdland, Mo.

In 1936 he moved his family west and bought a small farm at Hanford, Wash. During World War II he worked as a guard for the Bonneville Power Administration. He was transferred to Spokane in 1942 and worked at Kaiser Aluminum following the war. He retired after 25 years with Kaiser.

He was a member of Foothills Community Church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Roberta Shearer; one son, Carl Shearer of Spokane; one daughter, Mona Anderson of Fernwood, Idaho; two sisters, Sadie Scott of Arizona and Elsie Murray of Edina, Mo.; seven grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Foothills Community Church.

Imogene Roecks Spokane

Service for Imogene M. Roecks, 70, is set for 2 p.m. today at HennesseySmith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Roecks, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

She was employed with the civil service at Fairchild Air Force Base for 35 years and retired as secretary to the base commander in 1980.

Her husband, Elsworth Roecks, died in 1975. She is survived by three cousins, Robert Richards, Donna Jean Aubin and Dorothy Harding, all of Spokane, and her close friend, Arnold Braun of Spokane.

She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the Moose Lodge and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Plumbers Union.

Joe Lambert Spokane

Memorial service for Jordan Wheat “Joe” Lambert IV, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lambert, who died Monday, was born in New York City.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Following the war he attended business school in Stamford, Conn.

He and his family moved to Spokane in 1955 and he went to work for Frank Eikleberger and Associates. He attended Gonzaga University and began working for Sacred Heart Medical Center in 1974. He retired in 1989.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Spokane Rifle Club, Trout Unlimited, Spokane Fly Fishers, Spokane Four Wheelers, the Spokane Lilac Festival Float Builders, the Stationary Engineers Union, the Good Sam Club and the American Association of Retired Persons.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Smith-Lambert at home; two sons, David Lambert of Spokane and Jordan Lambert of Aumsville, Ore.; one daughter, Lyn Lambert of Spokane; and their mother, Joanne White; one brother, Andrew Lambert of Eastchester, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Amanda Hansen Spokane

Private service will be held for Amanda G. Hansen, 92. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Hansen, who died Monday, was born in Gary, Minn.

A 70-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Hansen, graduated from Sandpoint High School and Lewiston Normal School. She taught school in Sandpoint before moving to Spokane. She worked as a decorator and hand-painted lampshades.

Her husband, Peter Hansen, preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Lena Dyer of Spokane.

Beulah Weaver Spokane

Memorial service for Beulah E. Weaver, 80, is set for 1 p.m. today at United Church of Tekoa, Wash. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Weaver, who was born in Great Falls, Mont., died Wednesday.

She had lived in Daisy, Wash., and was a nurse’s aide at Tekoa Care Center for 20 years while she lived in Tekoa. She had lived in Spokane for four years.

Her husband, Orville Weaver, died in 1978. Survivors include one son, Clifford Weaver of Redmond, Ore.; two daughters, Virginia Fulkerson of Rockford and Nadine Lalonde of Spokane; two sisters, Kathleen Agte of Plummer, Idaho, and Phyllis Hart of LaGrande, Ore.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Orrin ‘Jack’ Sprague Spokane

Memorial service for Orrin “Jack” Sprague, 73, is planned for 11 a.m. today at Liberty Lake Community Church. Private inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sprague, who died Thursday, was born in Edgemont, S.D., and graduated from high school in Denver.

He served in the Navy during World War II, worked for Exxon Oil Co. for 42 years, and retired in 1981. He had lived in Spokane for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Fran Sprague; one son, Jack Sprague of Apple Valley, Minn.; two daughters, Sally Hattamer of Spokane and Sharon Cleveland of Colville, Wash; one sister, Jane Hafling of Anchorage, Alaska; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Center in Fairfield.

Gladys Davis Colville, Wash

Graveside inurnment for Gladys C. Davis, 78, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Wilbur (Wash.) Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Wilbur is in charge arrangements.

Mrs. Davis, a former Wilbur resident, died Tuesday. She was born in Garfield, Wash.

She and her husband, Vern Davis, lived in the Palouse for a short time and then lived in Idaho before they settled in Clarkston, Wash. They had lived in Wilbur for 35 years and Mrs. Davis moved to Colville 1 years ago.

She was a member of Wilbur Presbyterian Church and the Wilbur and Colville Senior Citizens.

Her husband died in 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Pankey of Colville and Eilene Magis of Creston, Wash.; one brother, Ernie Bunch of Moscow, Idaho; one sister, Goldie Davis of Spokane; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mary Anderson Kerrville, Texas

Service for Mary E. Anderson, 83, will be at 2 p.m. today in Kerrville. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Newport (Wash.) City Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Anderson died Wednesday in Kerrville, where she had lived since October.

She was born in Coleman County, Texas, and had lived in Newport for 12 years.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Short of Kerrville; one son, Tommy McIntosh of Van Vleck, Texas; one brother, Charles Couch of Andrews, Texas; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Noel Meyer Pasco

Memorial service for Noel Lyndon Meyer, 52, will be at 1 p.m. today at Mueller’s Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco. Inurnment will be later in Huron, S.D.

Mr. Meyer, a former Idaho, resident, died Tuesday in Pasco. He had lived in the Tri-Cities for the past eight years.

He was born in Wendell, Idaho, and graduated from high school in Rupert, Idaho, and attended the University of Idaho. He served in the Army from 1962 until 1965.

He worked in the painting industry and restored model trains.

Mr. Meyer was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by one daughter, Casey Roberts of Spokane; his father and stepmother, Camden and Marie Meyer of Twin Falls, Idaho; one brother, Gary Meyer of Stevens Point, Wis.; two half-sisters, Elise Woodall and Christine Aipperspach of Boise; and his companion, Pat Carrigan.

Mildred Marshall Spokane

Memorial service for Mildred Ann Marshall, 76, will be at 1 p.m. April 14 at Colonial-Dewitt Funeral Home in Walla Walla.

Mrs. Marshall, a former longtime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

She was born in Longpine, Neb., and moved to Walla Walla with her family when she was young. She and her husband, Howard Marshall, lived in Mississippi while he served in the military, and then they moved to Walla Walla. She worked in a commercial creamery for 25 years in Spokane, where she lived until her husband died in February.

She is survived by one son, Gene Bates of Clarkston, Wash.; four sisters, Donetta Pratt of Fernley, Nev., Joan McRae of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Shirley Fuller of Walla Walla and Elaine Bates of Portland; one brother, Edward Bates of Phoenix, Arizona; and two grandchildren.

Colleen Peterson Spokane

Service for Coleen R. Peterson, 49, is set for 1 p.m. Monday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Peterson, who died Wednesday, was born in Kimberley, Nev.

She moved to Spokane from Kellogg when she was 21. She graduated from Kinman Business University and worked at URM Stores for 23 years.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Peterson; one daughter, Brenda Polello, and three stepsons, Randall, Tracey and Daniel Peterson, all of Spokane; her mother, Ann Sommers of Kellogg; one granddaughter and three grandsons.

Thomas Burnett Spokane

Service for Thomas R. Burnett, 68, is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of the Open Bible. Private service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Burnett, a 14-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

He was born in Ashland, Miss.

He served in the Army Air Corps in 1945 and retired in 1969. He had served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He later worked for the Washington Department of Social and Health Services from 1971 until 1988.

He was a member and deacon at First Church of the Open Bible and a member of The Gideons International and the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Burnett; two sons, David Burnett of Paris and Jonathan Burnett of Post Falls; two daughters, Shelley Gingrich of Malaga, Wash., and Cindy Hval of Spokane; and nine grandchildren.

Alice Mason Spokane

Service for Alice F. (Dunham) Mason, 87, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Mason, a homemaker, died Tuesday. She was born in Loon Lake, Wash.

She was a member of Veradale United Church of Christ, Ramona Rebekah Lodge, the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, the Spokane Valley Women’s Club and the Spokane Valley Homemakers Club.

Her husband, James Mason, died in 1978. Survivors include one son, James Mason of Tacoma; two daughters, Carolyn Rusk of Anchorage, Alaska, and Janyce Satran of Spokane; two sisters, Mildred Jones and Dorris Bender, and two brothers, John and Elmer Dunham, all of Spokane; nine grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.

David Dickamore Spokane

Service for David E. Dickamore, 43, is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at Metaline (Wash.) Cemetery.

Born in Ione, Wash., Mr. Dickamore died Thursday.

He graduated from Selkirk High School in 1970 and moved to Spokane 13 years ago from Ione. He had worked as a warehouse manager for Construction Products for 10 years.

He was a member of the Hauser Lake Trap Shooters and the Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Dickamore; his mother, June Machamer of Spokane; one sister, Becky Cossey of Spirit Lake, Idaho; two brothers, Dale Dickamore of Ritzville, Wash., and Dean Dickamore of Ione; two stepdaughters, Becky Davis of Coeur d’Alene and Tracy Averyt of Spokane; and his grandmother, Wilma Kincart of Lewiston.
