Is Webber Worrying As ‘Sunset’ Looks To Close
Maybe Andrew Lloyd Webber knew what he was talking about when he dumped Faye Dunaway as Glenn Close’s replacement in the Los Angeles version of his hit musical “Sunset Boulevard.”
He said it was because Dunaway’s voice couldn’t cut it. He might as well have said that no one can replace Close, who left the L.A. show to open on Broadway.
Daily Variety reported that during a twoweek period in which Close took a break from the New York production, the show’s box office claimed $415,000 more than the actual take with an understudy playing lead role.
Close might want to take this opportunity to rewrite her contract. She’s scheduled to leave for good sometime in July.

To actor Michael Richards, his “Seinfeld” character Cosmo Kramer appears to be something more than fiction. “I established Kramer’s look, but I wasn’t going for a real hip retro thing,” he told P.O.V. magazine. “These are the clothes he’s always just worn, and he’s never bought any new clothes. I remember a few shirts I kept for years and then I lost ‘em. Kramer never loses ANYTHING. If you throw something out, Kramer wants it.”

At 63, Angie Dickinson is long past her sex-kitten days. But that doesn’t mean she’s finished with men. Or boys. Asked whether she dates young men, she said, “Yes, but I don’t make a habit of it. Some women literally do just like younger boys. But now I’ll take anything.”
