King Foots The Bill

Compiled From Wire Services

Don King, with no announcement or fanfare, picked up the $90,000 tab to send recovering fighter Gerald McClellan back to the United States on a specially equipped medivac plane. King is McClellan’s promoter.

McClellan, who lapsed into a coma following a knockout by Nigel Benn in London Feb. 25, was flown to a rehab hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. He is conscious and can squeeze a ball with his right hand.
