Gonzaga Scores Five Runs In 11th To Down Lewis-Clark State, 9-4
Gonzaga used a five-run, 11th-inning outburst to defeat Lewis-Clark State 9-4 in a nonconference baseball game Thursday night at Harris Field.
Andy Norton drove in the winning run for the Bulldogs with a fielder’s choice that scored Pat Shine.
Two batters later, Bryan Hunt provided the big blow of the inning, smacking a three-run triple.
The Warriors had tied the score 4-4 with a run in the bottom of the seventh on Miguel Inzunza’s runscoring single to right-center field that scored Mike Campbell.
Hunt finished 3 for 6 and drove in four runs to make a winner out of Casey Olson (1-0), who pitched four innings of two-hit scoreless relief.
Jerrod Wong added a pair of hits, including a first-inning home run to center field, his sixth of the season. He finished with two runs batted in as the Bulldogs upped their record to 18-13.
Robert Prince and Ryan Wilson had two hits apiece for the Warriors, who fell to 31-6.
