Man Charged In Death Of Wife, 3 Daughters

Compiled From Wire Services

A man was charged Thursday with using a shotgun and rifle to murder his wife, mother-in-law and three daughters in their home.

Kingkhamvong “King” Phimmachack, in the hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the chest, told investigators he owned both guns but admitted nothing else, Putnam County Sheriff Taylor Douglas said.

Phimmachack had been admitted to the hospital in critical condition but was upgraded to fair condition Thursday.

Killed Tuesday were Phimmachack’s wife, Frances, 23; her mother, Anna Bacon Morrow, 61; and the couple’s daughters, Amma, 2; Ayla, 4; and Lisa Ann, 7.

Phimmachack, 38, a native of Laos, was worried about money and often was late with his $200 monthly rent but always paid it, said Floyd Fillman, his landlord and nearest neighbor.
