Track Records Ratified

World track’s governing body ratified recent world indoor records set by Kenyan distance runner Moses Kiptanui and Russian sprinter Irina Privalova.

The International Amateur Athletic Federation approved Kiptanui’s 3,000-meter record of 7:35.15, set in Ghent, Belgium, on Feb. 12. He broke his own previous mark of 7:37.31.

The IAAF also ratified two records set by Privalova in the same race on Feb. 9 in Madrid: 5.96 seconds for 50 meters and 6.92 in the 60.
