Martinez needed only 83 minutes to defeat No. 3 Magdelena Maleeva of Bulgaria 6-2, 6-3, while Sabatini beat No. 8 Sabine Hack of Germany 6-3, 6-2 in 87 minutes.

Today’s final will be the 14th meeting between world No. 4 Martinez, of Spain, and world No. 7 Sabatini, of Argentina. Sabatini leads 9-4 and is seeking her fourth Bausch & Lomb title.
