Lewis-Clark Comes Up Big To Down Gonzaga, 9-7
Lewis-Clark State used a six-run second inning to put away Gonzaga, 9-7, in a non-conference baseball game at Pecarovich Field Tuesday.
The Warriors (34-8) used a threerun home run by Kelly Phair and a solo home run by Ethan Rodriguez in the second inning to pull away from the Bulldogs (19-16).
Rodriguez went 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs and the two home runs. Phair went 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and the home run.
Warriors starter Matt Wagner ran his record to 7-0, going six innings, striking out four and giving up five hits, two runs and three walks.
Lewis-Clark State won the season series four games to two. Gonzaga will be at Washington State Wednesday for a 4 p.m. Pacific-10 Conference North doubleheader.

Spokane scored eleven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to beat visiting Blue Mountain College in a NWAACC game. Charlie Zimmerman scattered five hits and had two strikeouts and no walks, improving his record to 3-0.
In the second game, Spokane (6-1, 8-4) used 16 hits and a six-run first inning, capped by Jason Uberuaga’s grand slam. Uberuaga had six RBIs in the game including a double. Jason Mathews added a solo home run in the fourth inning for Spokane.

Spokane opened NWAACC play with a pair of wins over host Wenatchee Valley. Julie Fountain led the Sasquatch, going 3 for 3, including a first-inning triple which drove in two runs. Deanna Fountain struck out one and gave up six hits.
In the second game, the Sasquatch (2-0, 3-5), used a six-run third inning led by Amy Flaa’s three-run homer and single in the fourth inning driving in two runs. Tanya Palmer went 3 for 5 including a double, and scored two runs along with a RBI. Wenatchee is 5-5, 5-7

AAU deadline
Entry deadline for the final weekend of the AAA Inland Empire Association Championships for basketball in Yakima is Thursday. The tournament will be held April 28-30 in the following divisions: Boys 11-Under, 12-U, 13-U, 14-U, 15-U, 16-U, 19-U and Girls 11-U, 12-U, 13-U, 14-U, 15-U, 16-U.
