Men Arrested After Liquor Cases Found
Two Canadian men were arrested in southern Idaho heading north with 41 cases of liquor bought in Jackpot, Nev., police said.
Idaho law only allows two quarts of liquor to be taken across the state without a tax stamp.
Milan Anthony Harlock, 44, and Janusz Tatarczak, 40, both of Edmonton, Alberta, were in custody Monday at the Twin Falls County Jail, Idaho State Police Cpl. Jerry Kurz said.
U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped the pair on Monday about six miles north of Hollister after noticing their weighted-down pickup truck heading north on U.S. Highway 93, Kurz said.
The liquor confiscated included six cases of “LTD Canadian Whiskey,” two cases of rum and 33 cases of vodka. Kurz said the cases each contained six 10- to 25-liter bottles.
He said Malad police confiscated 43 cases of liquor from the same men in a rented van just two weeks ago. They also were cited in Montana this year, Kurz said.
