Osu Aide Interviews With WSU
Oregon State men’s basketball assistant Larry Harris interviewed Tuesday for one of the two vacant positions on coach Kevin Eastman’s staff at Washington State.
Harris, 39, has served as a Beavers assistant under Jim Anderson the past three seasons.
Harris, who lettered four years at Pittsburgh and played briefly in the NBA, is considered one of the top recruiters in the nation.
His status at OSU remains uncertain because of the resignation of Anderson and the recent hire of former East Carolina coach Eddie Payne. Harris said he expected to talk with Payne on Thursday.
“But I know Coach Eastman, and I like what he’s done at Washington State, so that’s why I’m here,” Payne said Tuesday evening from a local motel room.
Eastman said he expects to name replacements for Byron Samuels and Jeff Schneider by the end this month or early May.
They resigned to accept Division I head-coaching jobs.
