Gsl Student Athletes Named To Wrestling Team

The following Greater Spokane League student athletes have been named to the First Team All State Academic Wrestling Team for the 1994-95 season. The team represents fall AAA schools in Washington:

Andrew Richardson, senior at University High School, 122-pound weight class, 4.0 grade-point average.

Jeff LeBret, junior at North Central High school, 135-pound weight class, 4.0 gpa.

Josh Robertson, senior at North Central High School, 141-pound weight class, 3.97 gpa.

Corey Laughary, senior at Shadle Park High School, 148-pound weight class, 3.99 gpa.

Rick Giampietri, junior at Central Valley High School, 158-pound weight class, 4.0 gpa.

Mike Clark, junior at University High School, 190-pound weight class, 3.96 gpa.

Adam West, junior at North Central High School, lost in tiebreaker criteria in making the team at the 129-pound weight. His gradepoint average is 3.73.

Gonzaga University senior Jason Evers, cadet battalion commander of the Gonzaga ROTC unit, is the 1995 recipient of the George C. Marshall ROTC Award, which is presented to the most outstanding ROTC cadet at each university. Evers is a civil engineering major and received the award at the 18th annual Marshall ROTC Awards Seminar in Lexington, Va.

Tech. Sgt. Marvin Million, son of Paul Million, Moscow, Idaho, and Judy Poirer, Coeur d’Alene, has been named Outstanding Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year. A 1982 graduate of Post Falls High School, he is stationed with the Air Force as a weather forecaster at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.

Katie Nelson, Mead, has been named to the 1995 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She is a junior at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma.

Washington State University has named the winners of the 1995 WSU President’s Employee Excellence Award. Each winner will receive a $1,000 check and a plaque. They are:

Bennie Harris, director of the WSU Center for Human Rights.

Marc Bates, manager of the WSU Creamery, which makes worldfamous Cougar cheese.

Sherry Bye, coordinator for the Institutional Review BoardSpokane at the Health Research and Education Center, WSU Spokane, and previously with the Office of Grant and Research Development in Pullman.
