Mothers Who Matter Most
In celebration of Mother’s Day on May 14, 1-800-FLOWERS is hosting its sixth annual “Mothers Who Matter Most” national essay contest.
Both children and adults have the opportunity to share why their living mother (or person of greatest maternal influence) matters most; how her love and guidance has supported them or their family and why they feel she is the best mom around. The essay should include mom’s best qualities, her job and her favorite kind of flower.
Essays must be 250 words or less and entrants should include their name, address and phone number. The entries will be judged by a panel of parenting experts and judging criteria is based on the overall story, not on writing style or grammar, so every child has a chance to win.
The grand-prize winner will receive two round-trip airline tickets anywhere in the continental United States, plus hotel stay for seven days/ six nights and a dozen roses. Three runners-up will receive a dozen roses delivered once a month for a year.
Send your entry to: 1-800-FLOWERS Mothers Who Matter Most Contest, P.O. Box 466, Garden City, NY 11530. All entries must be received by April 28.
