Applications Due For Boise Aviation School
High school students interested in careers in aviation and aerospace have until May 1 to apply for a weeklong aviation school in Boise.
The Aviation Career Education Academy accepts 40 students. Students will learn about aviation history, aerodynamics, aeronautical charts, cross-country navigation and aerospace science.
Tours of the FAA Air Traffic Control Tower, the Boise Air Terminal and other aviation facilities are also on the agenda. Students will be offered a plane flight with an experienced pilot to familiarize themselves with aircraft controls and flight procedures.
Tuition for the workshop is $100. Participants will be housed on the Boise State University campus, where the workshop takes place.
