Scott Edminster Named Physician/Citizen Of Year

Dr. Scott Edminster was named Spokane Physician/Citizen of the Year for 1994 by the Spokane County Medical Society. He won the award for his outstanding contributions to the medical profession and community.

Dr. Edminster has practiced as an emergency medical physician for 11 years and has been active as a Spokane County disaster physician. He is a member of the Spokane County Medical Society E.M.S. committee, chair of the Spokane County Medical Society ethics committee, a medical advisor to Medic I Paramedics in Spokane, a member of the Deaconess Medical Center executive committee, and the chairman of Deaconess Medical Center ethics committee.

David Larsen has been selected as Outstanding Civil Engineer of the Year for 1994 by the American Society of Civil Engineers for the Inland Empire. In 1991 he was named vice president of construction services and a principal at Taylor Engineering, Inc. He is immediate past president of the Inland Empire Section of ASCE.

Deborah Kemp, sales associate with Re/Max Preferred Realtors in Coeur d’Alene, was named one of the Top Ten Sales Associates in the Re/Max Pacific Northwest Region for 1994. She was a Top Ten Sales Associate for the region during the month of December and recognized at the Pacific Northwest Region convention in Seattle. She also was named to the prestigious Re/Max Platinum Club, which recognizes associates who earn top commissions for the year.

At Re/Max in Spokane Joe Kramer, Chris Scott, Steve Boileau, and William Main Sr., were named by Re/Max International Inc. to the prestigious 100% Club. They are ranked within the top 1 percent of all Realtors nationally.

Named to the Executive Club were Gwen Chambers, John Shearer and Bob Miller. Achieving the President’s Club award were Gary Arthur, Eileen Frith and Kathy McBride.

The American Meteorological Society has named Glenn Hilst, environmental consultant in Spokane, the 1995 recipient of the Cleveland Abbe Award for Distinguished Service to Atmospheric Sciences by an Individual. He was honored for “pioneering and extensive contributions to the atmospheric sciences, encompassing theoretical, experimental, computational, and applied aspects of turbulent diffusion in the atmosphere, with special emphasis on air pollution analysis and modeling.”

He retired from Electric Power Research Institute and has been a senior science advisor to Battelle Northwest Laboratories since 1990.
