Usc Signs Two

Avondre Jones, a 6-foot-11 center who played for Southern Cal during the 1993-94 season, is returning to the Trojans.

Jones and Maurice Strong, a 6-8, 250-pound forward from East High in Memphis, Tenn., have signed national letters of intent to play for the Trojans.

Jones, who will enroll as a junior in the fall, averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots per game last season at Chaffey Junior College in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Strong averaged 16 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots per game this past season, and scored more than 2,100 points in his three years as a starter.
