White Supremacist Executed
A white supremacist was executed Wednesday night by injection for killing a Jewish pawn shop owner in a 1983 robbery.
Richard Wayne Snell, who also had been sentenced to life for killing a black state trooper, died at 9:16 p.m. at the state prison near Varner.
He was denied last-minute stays by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Prosecutors said Snell, 64, was a member of a white supremacist group called The Covenant, the Sword and the Arm of the Lord.
