NEW FACES:

Mike Emenegger has joined Wendt Advertising in Spokane as art director. Emenegger was previously a graphic designer at Zak Designs.

Crowley Realty Better Homes and Gardens has hired Mark Grace, Steve Johnson, John St. Marie, Katherine Hampton-Nowland, and Steve Flinn as agents. All were previously with Showcase Properties.

LynAnn Henderson and Kelly Hampton have been hired as warehouse supervisors at Supervalu. Both were transferred from Ryan’s Division in Billings, Mont.

Mike White has been hired as the meat product manager at Supervalu. White transferred from the Great Lakes Division, where he was assistant meat product manager.

Century 21 Peoples Choice, 110 W. Crawford, has hired Roger Hamilton, Jim Palmer Jr. and Bess Welchy as associates. All three have completed training at Century 21’s Northwest regional office.

Chad Hutson has joined Spokane County’s Public Works Department as a public information specialist. Hutson was previously managing editor of the Spokane Valley News.

MOVING UP:

Jeri Dial has been promoted to traffic manager at Supervalu. Dial joined the company in 1975 and has held various positions in the Transportation Department.

John Cushman has been promoted to warehouse shift superintendent at Supervalu. Cushman, who has been with the company for about 18 years, previously was the warehouse supervisor.

June Davis, a registered respiratory therapist, has been appointed director of cardiopulmonary services at Holy Family Hospital. Davis has been at Holy Family for more than 20 years.

Diane Ortiz of First Interstate Bank Investment Services Division, has been promoted to area investment manager. Ortiz has been in the banking industry for 15 years. Her responsibilities include managing and coaching six personal financial representatives in Spokane, Montana and North Idaho.

ELECTED:

Hobart Jenkins, a director of Kootenai Electric Cooperative, was elected to the board of directors of the Northwest Public Power Association. Jenkins has served the cooperative as a director since 1989.

The Inland Empire Chapter of the Land Surveyor’s Association of Washington has elected the following officers for 1995: Kenneth Seiler, Seiler Engineering and Surveying, president; Scott Valentine, vice president; Jeff Mackleit, Thomas, Dean and Hoskins, secretary; and Rudy Kitzan, Adams and Clark Inc., treasurer.

The Inland Northwest Sheet Metal Contractors Association elected the following officers and directors for 1995: Keith Nemitz, Nemitz Sheet Metal, president; Roland Cummings KC Sheet Metal, vice president; Richard Pansie, Spokane Tin & Sheet Iron Works, secretary/treasurer; Donald Zoda, Randolph Sheet Metal, immediate past president. Directors include: David Mull Jr., Mull Tin Shop; Robert Brandt, Krueger Sheet Metal; Harvey Chapman, Morrison Refrigeration; and Jeff Jansen, Northwest Air System.

KUDOS:

Krueger Sheet Metal Co. has been awarded the 1995 Firestone Master Contractor Award. The award is presented annually by Firestone Building Products Co., Carmel, Ind., to the company’s top licensed commercial roofing contractors in U.S. and international sales regions. Krueger Sheet Metal received the award for its consistent, quality installations of Firestone roofing systems during 1994.

Telect Inc. has been selected as a GTE Vendor of Excellence. Telect is one of 27 GTE suppliers to earn this recognition, which is based on an extensive qualification process.

Lewiston-based Beamers Hells Canyon Tours and Excursions was designated a “Blue Chip Enterprise” by Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co., the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Nation’s Business magazine for its creative use of resources in meeting business challenges.

The American Automobile Association recently awarded three Inland Empire hotels and one restaurant the Four Diamond Award. Selected for the 1995 honors for exceptional service and facilities are: Cavanaugh’s Inn at the Park, The Coeur d’Alene Resort, The Sheraton-Spokane Hotel and Beverly’s Restaurant.

Three Spokane-area Taco Time restaurants were among 20 nationwide which received the company’s Five-Star Award for quality. The restaurants are located at 1414 W. Francis, 2410 N. Monroe and 12804 W. Sunset Highway. They are managed by Linda Krall, Jeremy Kiehn and Nicole Churchill. District manager is Sandy Bowman.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Joe McBride has been awarded advanced speaker certification in marketing by International Speaker Network. The award requires 128 hours of instruction in presentation skills, competence in subject area, and successful completion of a two-step process of presentations evaluated by a panel of other professional speakers.

Michelle Ohmstede has been certified by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. Since her graduation from Gonzaga University, she has been working in behavioral medicine with John T. Lloyd, Ph.D.
