Seminars Scheduled At Baby Fair Saturday
Want some expert advice on pregnancy and babies? And the chance to explore exhibits on baby products and services?
Burlington Coat Factory will host Baby Fair 1995 this Saturday.
The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the third floor of the store, at 811 W. Main. A wide array of local and national exhibitors will display their infant and toddlercentered services and products.
Beyond the exhibits by diaper services, photography studios, financial services, health-care professionals and many others, parenting-education seminars will be offered throughout the day by Sacred Heart Medical Center staff.
At 11:30 a.m. “Introduction to Pregnancy” will cover planning the birth experience.
The 1 p.m. seminar, “Communicating With Your Baby,” will explore how babies learn and communicate. Infant massage, parents’ role in communication, abilities of newborns and behavior expectations will be discussed.
“Breast- and Bottle-feeding Basics” at 2 p.m. will teach feeding techniques and examine the bonding effect of feeding time.
The 3 p.m. presentation will focus on keeping baby safe through accident prevention in the home, car safety and CPR.
At 1:30 p.m., Childcraft and Gerry Products will offer a car-seat safety program and at 2:30, Childcraft will present tips on crib safety.
Other activities include a maternity fashion show at noon, a cutest-baby contest with winner announced at 4:30 p.m., and a raffle to benefit Spokane Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Center.
