Tonya Figures Mom Was Going For The Gold

Kato Kaelin, on his latest literary ambitions (in Entertainment Weekly): “I’m reading ‘The Tempest’ … I’m trying to understand it. No, make that, ‘I hath tried to understand it.”’ Felonious figure skater Tonya Harding has been dropped from an upcoming CBS “Where Are They Now” special after accusing the network of paying her mother to spy on her.
TV Guide reports that CBS admitted supplying Harding’s mother, LaVona Golden, with a hidden microphone to tape their conversations during Olympic training last year, but it denied paying her. The network also said it instructed Golden to tell Harding she was wired.
“My mother doesn’t do anything without being paid,” Harding said during the taping of the special, scheduled to air May 4.
CBS producers deemed Harding’s comments “inappropriate” and pulled her segment. Said one official: “It wouldn’t be right to air such accusations without equal time for an answer.”
