Carrousel Shut Down A Week For Repair

Riverfront Park’s Carrousel will be closed today through Friday, May 5, for repairs.

The 1909 Looff Carrousel needs realignment of the sweeps - the wooden beams that support the horses from above.

Realignment makes the Carrousel run smoother, and eases wear and tear on the components.

Workers had hoped to get the complicated repairs done before today, but found they needed another week, said Riverfront Director Hal McGlathery.
