Vandal Denies Violations

Jevon Green, whose status on the Idaho basketball team is unclear, denied in court on Monday that he has allegedly committed four probation violations in recent months.

Green, who played sparingly last season as a freshman before running into legal trouble, faces an evidentiary hearing on Aug. 23, in a Latah County courtroom.

Green is accused of throwing a telephone and answering machine out a UI dorm room window on May 15; aiding and abetting the theft of beer from a convenience store in Washington and possessing beer on May 25; and moving from his UI dormitory without permission of his probation officer on June 19.

Green, who led Washington high school players in scoring at 32 points per game at Seattle’s Nathan Hale High in 1993-94, was placed on probation six times as a juvenile and was arrested last December after a Vandals game in Seattle for probation violations.

UI basketball coach Joe Cravens and athletic director Pete Liske weren’t available for comment on Tuesday.
