Usc Receiver Investigated

Compiled From Wire Services

The Pacific-10 Conference is investigating a loan allegedly made to USC wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson while he was in junior college, trying to determine if it was an attempted inducement to turn professional or to lure him to an agent.

The investigation has been ongoing, and David Price, associate commissioner of the conference, talked with Johnson, a USC source said.

He is being accorded All-American status by many preseason publications and touted for the Heisman Trophy by USC. Johnson was not available for comment.
