2 Killed In Plane Crash

From Staff And Wire Reports

A pilot and his passenger died after their plane crashed in mountain foothills on the east side of the Olympic Peninsula, authorities said Sunday.

The crash was located Sunday evening by the Jefferson County Search and Rescue Team in a remote area at the 3,300-foot level south of Quilcene.

The dead were identified as pilot Robert Greaves, 52, and Shellie Hill, 40, both of Olympia.

Their bodies were scheduled to be recovered on Monday, said David Goldsmith, public information officer for Jefferson County sheriff’s department.

Their Cessna 172 was reported missing about 8 p.m. Saturday after it failed to arrive in Olympia, Goldsmith said. It was enroute from the San Juan Islands to Olympia.
