Three Holdups Investigated

From Staff Reports

Police are investigating three robberies that occurred last weekend in Spokane.

On Saturday, a man told a clerk he had a gun and demanded money at Senor Froggy’s, 1918 N. Division. The robber was a white man in his early 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, 240 pounds with a long scar on his right cheek from one ear to his chin.

On Sunday, about 2:40 p.m., a man showed an employee at Fantastic Videos, 1014 S. Perry, the barrel of a gun and threatened to kill the owner and his wife if he didn’t get money. The robber put the money in a white cloth bag.

He was described as a white man, about 35, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a short beard and stringy hair.

At 11:20 p.m. Sunday, a man robbed the Quik Stop at 924 E. Francis.

The clerk recognized the man as the same person who had robbed the store about 10 days earlier.

The man threatened the clerk and said he had a weapon. The robber took some cash and left. A police dog tracked the man for a short distance, then lost the scent.

No description was available of the suspect in the Quik Stop robbery. Police wouldn’t disclose the amounts of money stolen in any of the three weekend robberies.
